The Achievements of Louis Chenevert at UTC

Mr. Louis R. Chenevert is the former Chairman and CEO of United Technologies Corporation. He is an alumnus of the Université de Montréal, École des Hautesétudes commerciales (HEC). Born French-Canadian, Mr. Chenevert holds a bachelor’s degree in production management from the same institution. Until his departure at UTC, he has managed to leave a legacy of accolades at the company.

Mr. Chenevert worked for over ten years at General Motors before finally joining Pratt & Whitney, an affiliate unit of the United Technologies Corporation. It took him a mere six years to become president of Pratt & Whitney Canada, a position he earned in 1999. He stayed in this post for seven years of hard work before he was ultimately voted in as the president and Chief Executive Officer. As the leader of the conglomerate, Mr. Chenevert managed to earn impressive achievements with an approximate value of $100 billion.

During the subprime recession of 2006, Mr. Chenevert was able to navigate the company through the challenging economic conditions that led to the collapse of several giant firms in the industry. The success can be attributed to his hard work, skills, and experience. After stepping down from UTC in 2014, he joined Goldman Sachs the following year.
